VINTAGE DISPLAY OR STORAGE CABINET

I loved the style of this teak timber display or storage cabinet but I knew I wanted to trying something a bit more funky and vintage looking

I painted the cabinet white and then applied a colour called "Mitchell Blue" and lightly distressed and shabby chic'd it.  There was rejections in the coating a restorers nightmare but it was my delight.  I think it actually gave it a unique look.  I also used an old rag to wipe the paint whilst it was partically drying great technique.

This item was for sale only 1 day and it sold to Nicole who loves bright colours and looks great in her vintage inspired home.

ORNATE FRENCH STYLE DINING TABLE WITH 6 CHAIRS

Wow we have been extremely busy keeping up with shabby chic furniture and the demand is great for business

We travelled over 1.5 hours to buy this gorgeous piece of furniture which is made of solid oak and sadly had been shoved in a garage for 6 years.  This ornate dining suite was hand made in Subiaco WA and I was really surprised when I saw the gorgeous detail.

We lightly sanded the table as it showed signs of surface scratches and I wanted to get any older oil off so it did not come through my white coating.

We removed all the seat pads so that the chairs could be initally hand painted as there was lots of curves and detail so I wanted to make sure I cover each piece.  The seat pad were spring based and the fabric was in ok condition but I knew it would not go with my new look.  Went to Spotlight and bought a black and white damask print and re-upholstered each chair repairing some of the strapping underneath also.

The table was all hand sanded to give it a shabby chic look the whole process from start to finish took two days to complete

Item sold within 3 days of completion

GORGEOUS FRENCH COUNTRY BUFFET/HUTCH

I came across this large french country hutch which is made of solid pine and had been sitting in the persons garage for more than 2 years.  When I saw it I already had in mind what I want to do with it.

This was a huge hutch with great character and would certainly compliment someone's home once done.

I used vivid white paint as I wanted to give it a very fresh look.  Once painted white I hand sanded each area of the hutch with a sanding block and 80 grit paper getting into all the areas.  I was really happy with the way it turned out.  It took me about 6 hours to complete from start to finish.

Once advertised the item sold within 3 hours to a book keeper.

APPLE GREEN CHEST OF DRAWERS

When I saw these drawers I knew they were in need of a transformation.

Someone had attempted to spray them black, white and silver they looked horrible.  The drawers are all solid timber so I lightly sanded the drawers to get mainly the black off paint off.

Was unsure what colour to paint them but after going through all the paint cans I found a lovely apple green.

Once painted the apple green I only lightly distressed them by hand sanding them. I painted the top of the drawers white and also the handles to give it a crisp clean look and added a timber stencil underneath the handles to give it a vintage look.

They sold two days later to a couple who just loved the colour
